Pixie's Preserves

A taste of magic

The story of Pixie’s Preserves and their gourmet jam and jellies began when Michelle was a young girl helping her mother make delicious elderberry jelly, filling their house with the heartwarming aroma of homemade goodness.

Years later, Michelle turned that childhood pastime into more than a full-time career as she launched Pixie’s Preserves, which started small but has blossomed into a major crafter of over 20 varieties of delicious homemade jams, jellies, and marmalades, marketed in retail outlets throughout New York’s Capital Region and beyond, and nationwide and worldwide through her website.

Yet despite all the growth, Michelle still makes all her products the same way she always did ― in a simple eight-quart pot on her stove, just like Mom used to do. Always just one batch at a time, with no preservatives, GMOs, additives or artificial anything. Using only the finest, freshest ingredients and hand sorting every fruit and vegetable that goes into her products.

Every morning, while most of us are still sleeping, Michelle rises to begin working her magic, finishing more than 120 glass jars a day. Somehow, she also manages to run the family produce stand in Halfmoon, New York, works on farm land owned by an uncle, where many of the veggies that go into her products are grown, and bakes some of the best pies around.

Michelle is a perfectionist and proud of it. So much so that even the labels on her quaint glass jars must be applied a special way. Because everything that has her name on it has to reflect her commitment to uncompromising excellence.

Although she offers traditional flavors like blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry, Michelle is also constantly pushing the flavor envelope with varieties like Apple Crisp, Fig Jam, Pickle Jelly, and White Peach Blackberry Jam. Some of her flavors are even taken in buckets and used in local cheeses and yogurts.

Then there are hot jams like Hot Pepper Jelly, Fiery Hot Pepper and Jelly from Hell. In fact, some restaurants top their burgers with her Hot Pepper Jellies.
